The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), representing dock workers on the US East and Gulf Coast Ports, have indicated that they may begin a new labor strike from as early as January 15th 2025, should the parties fail to reach an agreement on outstanding contract matters before the contract extension expires. A strike could cause major delays and backlogs for container shipments at these ports.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on proceedings and will reach out to customers who may be impacted by the strike, remembering its ports on the US East Coast and Mexican Gulf regions that would be affected. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss any specific questions or concerns.
