| Good afternoon, Please be advised that two typhoons, Mitag and Ragasa, are impacting the Guangdong region with ongoing disruptions expected over the next seven days. As a result, we anticipate delays for shipments moving within the affected areas. Typhoon Mitag Is expected to make landfall later this evening. Several terminals in Shenzhen and Guangzhou have already suspended empty container pick-ups and vessel operations. Super Typhoon Ragasa Is estimated to make landfall on Wednesday, 24 September. Terminals may reopen briefly tomorrow, before closing again. Operational Impacts: Trucking services may be restricted due to road closures and safety regulations. Shipping terminals and container depots will suspend operations intermittently, causing operational delays in container movements. Vessel schedules will be affected, creating possible port congestion and berthing/ departure delays. For further details on cyclone tracking and updates, please refer to the Hong Kong Observatory We recommend factoring in potential delays for shipments moving through Shenzhen and Guangzhou, as terminal closures are likely to create backlogs and bottlenecks. |
