FTA / APSA ESCALATE ADVOCACY
Carrier profitability in the meantime is soaring and the Review shows the continued growth of the average earnings per container carried compared to the unit costs of carrying that container, which have barely changed over the course of the past 18 months. Globally, carriers are earning more than twice per container than at the start of the pandemic.
Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) will continue close engagement with the GSF and MDS Transmodal as a part of our direct advocacy to Federal ministers.
Whilst the challenges are evident for all to see, rest assured we maintain regular communications with the carriers themselves, and our partner networks to find solutions that best suit our customers needs. We expect as vaccinations increase and restrictions continue to ease, so too will the shipping industry begin to stabilise.
