The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has officially announced industrial action at DP World terminals, starting from the 6th of October, 2023. This action comes after unsuccessful negotiations for a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and will involve work bans and stoppages lasting up to 24 hours at DP World terminals in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Fremantle.
DP World have expressed their concern about the significant impact of these actions on the national economy and supply chain. To address the deadlock, the MUA has planned protected industrial action starting this week, with additional bargaining meetings scheduled for October 17th-19th.

Some shipping lines have already subcontracted third-party terminals to work arriving vessels as a result of these impending work stoppages.
Please be mindful that this industrial action will affect vessel arrivals, which could result in ongoing port congestion and further delays. Our helpful team will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you informed should your shipments be affected.
